Oscar Fever - Indian Fever

Since its that time of the year, when all the Hollywood artists and fans eagerly look forward to the most glamorous & prestigious red carpet of the year, let me start with a positive note as my first post, The Oscar Fever...

One Billion people yes the oldest Democratic country in the world, INDIA is following the music of the pied piper AR RAHMAN...

I personally feel though he has rendered some soul stirring music for films like Roja, Duet, Rangeela, Taal, Kandukonden Kondukonden, Kannathil Muthamittal among others and compared to them Slumdog Millionarie is good but not the best of his works.

Neverthless I wish and I hope it is We(billion Indians) wish A.R Rahman comes home with Golden Oscar.
Fingers crossed for the monday morning live...
MERE PAAS MAA HAI...

And the Oscar goes to A R Rahman … Our prayers have been heard and Rahman was blessed twice both for BEST ORIGINAL SCORE & BEST SONG.

As usual Rahman received the award with humble posture; the best part of it was AR Rahman performed live on the big stage.

It was a lovely moment on the red carpet to see the kids from Slums (only two were actually from Slums) to actually be there among the stars, Reuters reporter was asking the young girl in the group how she was feeling at the moment in English which the poor girl couldn’t understand and the other kids helped her with translating the Question and replying to the reporter the Kid was smiling to say I am enjoying the moment. The unpretentious smile of the little girl was the best moment of the red carpet according to me.

I was also happy to see Resul Pookutty get the award for BEST SOUND MIXING, adding the nights count to three for Indians at this 81st Annual Academy Awards.

I was also praying secretly ever since the nominations for Oscar were announced a month ago for the British beauty also famously know as English rose to win this time, this was her 6th Academy nomination and when the Best actress award was announced, I was thrilled to hear KATE WINSLET and though I also had one more favorite among the nominees, Meryl Streep( 2 Oscars won) who had two statues at home already, I selfishly prayed this time it should go to Kate.

Now where do my blog go from here? I will be watching the Oscar nominated movies soon, and I will share my views on them here. I had already watched Changeling (Angelina Jolie) movie, there is nothing much to write

about it.
